Unisystem joins Ice Tea Group Porting Network for South America

Ice Tea Group (ITG) has announced that the Brazilian company Unisystem, Gupta's former distributor for Brazil from 2000 to 2008, joined ITG's network of companies offering migration services by partnering with fecher. The two companies formed a joint team of experts to handle Brazil’s demand for ITG’s technology migration services. Unisystem will bring its familiarity with local businesses and its expertise with Gupta technologies. Fecher, having already migrated several hundred Gupta applications, will bring its unmatched expertise with the migration process. There are more than 500 businesses in South America still dependent on Gupta Team Developer, an old 4GL from the '90s. These businesses risk technological inefficiency and incompatibility with systems based on the modern Microsoft .NET platform. Gupta-based systems may also ward off potential employees and clients who want to work with modern applications and technologies. "With a portfolio of more than 200 active companies using Gupta technologies, Unisystem can quickly create a substantial pipeline of migration projects and establish itself as the leader for the migration of Gupta systems to Microsoft .NET.", said Joe Meyer, Ice Tea Group marketing director.
